Doing My Best to Stay Clean

and i don't mean that in any sort of Kate-Moss-Trying-To-Keep-My-Modeling-Contracts-and-Nose-Cartilage sort of way. in a much more literal sense. our superintendent, who just might be the nicest lady ever, was upset by the wear-and-tear on our bathtub and decided that it was time for it to be refinished. we thought this plan was fine, especially when she said it would only be out of commission for 24 hours. unfortunately the date of the bathtub-finishing coincided with melissa moving onto our couch, and 24 hours turned into three days. so i am literally trying to stay as clean as possible because i have to seek showers elsewhere.

i don't actually have much to tell of late. i'm still not sure how i feel about that whole "working for a living" thing. i mean, it has its upsides (i have somewhere to live, food to eat, money to buy things) but it definitely has its downsides too (the biggest one being that i actually have to show up everyday). i'm getting used to it and i am finally busy enough at work that i am not pulling my hair out with boredom. and the boys i have worked with are funny so at least there is some entertainment value.

today joe and i are attempting to write all of our e-mail correspondence in the form of poems. at first i was aiming high and going for iambic pentameter but quickly realized that i don't actually know what that means and rhyming couplets are a lot easier. i have to say, some of our emails are works of genius ... not in any sort of shakespearean way but i hear shakespeare is overrated. (for all you shakespeare buffs that are trolling the internet looking for shakespeare-related blogs i was joking. please do not send me angry letters.)

i was going to leave you with one of my poems but then i realized that i had overwhelmed myself, almost to the point of tears, with my own nerdiness. so i leave you with nothing. except this:

fanny-packs appear to be making a comeback. discuss.
