Why Won't the Spasms Stop?

i ask the title question in the most literal and pleading way. since saturday i've been dealing with an ongoing muscle spasm in the back of my left shoulder. and its not a funny twitch like the ones you get in your eyes when you are tired. this one hurts. and you can see it through sweaters. i am a freak.
