Carmen Electra's Striptease Video Workout Extravaganza

i'm sitting here, looking at the weathereye on my desktop, waiting until the temperature is appropriate for running. and i'm listening to kanye, which is as close to gangsta rap as i can get without feeling a fool myself. it has been ages since i went for a proper run due to the soaring temperatures of late and i am kinda looking forward to this one. plus i've had lots on my mind this past week and sometimes the best thing to do is sweat it out.

i wanted to post lots of pictures from last weekend. pictures that would tell a story and entertain. but i didn't take any. it was a big mistake. plus, we didn't actually "do" much this weekend apart from all those things that you really want to do on a long-weekend. it was a casual and relaxing friends and family weekend at the cottage. adele, james, shannon, daniel and i joined michael and the parents at our cottage and we filled the days with swimming, sleeping and the reading of men's magazines, and our nights with drinking, charades and general hilarity.

although i took very few actual pictures i do have a couple of videos that i find amusing. one is of the ridiculous mouse-catching episode of saturday night (the efforts were fruitless) and the other, filmed by shannon, is of daniel and i playing cranium. we were not the best team in that his cheating ways and my literal interpretation of everything led only to shouting and frustration but we had fun and it didn't prevent us from drinking crown royal on the dock until 4:30 am. it had been a long time since i sat outside, looking at the stars, just hanging out and shooting the shit. it was oddly soothing.

the next day we visited dorth and ted and had a minor paddleboat incident which involved, primarily, capsizing a paddleboat. then we ate lunch and watched the ducks for a while. on the way back we stopped in westport to pick up some fudge for michael. we all thought it was a bizarre request until we tried it and, good lord, it was delicious fudge. well worth the trip. charades filled the evening and even though i'll acknowledge that i'm a spaz i maintain that it is virtually impossible to act out "99 problems but the bitch ain't one". and "fubar fucked up beyond all recognition" is not the title of anything. balls.

going back to toronto sucked. i really could have stayed at the cottage for a week longer. it is always difficult to return to the regular grind, but even more so when you are unsure how you feel about the regular grind. i'm not complaining right now; i am having an amazing summer and i have no qualms with anything tangible right now, but i guess i am feeling the need for change. something fun and exciting! an adventure of sorts. grr, i always say that don't i? and then life gets in the way ...
