'Tis The Season

i only have a couple of minutes to write this but i thought i should commemorate the beginning of the end of the Jewish holiday season with a post. and how do Jews celebrate? parties with booze and gifts? oh no ... lets try prayer, fasting and, uh, more prayer. awesome.

but now its sukkot. the jewish thanksgiving if you will. its a harvest festival and so one would imagine a feast of plenty. yeah, almost. try spending a week eating in a hut. a hut you ask, is that practical in this climate? well, no, but to be fair its only almost a hut. lets try a three-walled structure with no roof. sweet.

obviously i will not be partaking in the full 8-day glory of this festival but tonight i will eat a dinner essentially outside as the temperature plunges to 3 degrees celcius with my orthodox relatives. and at least its the sabbath so our food will only be lukewarm.

alright, gotta go ... need to find my snowsuit to make this evening bearable.
