Chucking the Moon

it may be a little late to be discussing new years resolutions (yeah, i know ... i suck at posting) but this year i've made one (with shannon) that i am sure is going to stick: do whatever i want, whenever i want.

two questions should immediately pop into your head: 1. how is that possibly a resolution? and 2. how is that different than how you have been leading your frivolous life up to this point?

i will address your hypothetical questions as follows.

it is totally an action plan. i no longer have an excuse for not doing something because i have to do what i want, when i want to do it. i suppose this only works because i have the least addictive personality on earth. i have, in the past, consciously made the decision to increase my level of self-destructive activites and those decisions never stick. i always end up "taking a break" or "forgetting that i was going to drink more" and realize that i just can't be bothered.

so now, when i feel like doing something that catches my fancy, i have no excuse not to. this is a great resolution!

and how is it different than my earlier life? well, now that i have officially resolved to get involved i can no longer just passively be incorporated into the plans made by others ... i have to actually make the things i want to do happen. this is huge. particularly since i loathe planning things. and i kinda suck at it.

it is only january 10th but i am going to give you a brief synopsis of the things i have done since the new year that fall in line with this resolution:

1. gave my card to a boy with a moustache
2. organized a girls night, centred around a game of saucy charades
3. went on a solo ice-skating mission
4. went trail-running in a downpour
5. attempted to explore a new neighbourhood in toronto (ended up in forest hill village)

yeah, i'm hardcore.

I applaud your efforts. As someone who has lived life with a supersized serving of Hedonism since 3rd year University, I hope you enjoy it.

im impressed with the resolution. It sounds like an everyday party. When I am visiting I too will partake in your mantra. I am also impressed with your planning ability of a girls night and am appreciative of the phone call. I miss you ladies...esp when you are playing saucy charades.
